WWE Breaking the Code: Behind the Walls of Chris Jericho DVD Review

Disc One,

Documentary – This Documentary is truly one of a kind. It couldn’t have been done any better, and it had the right people being interviewed and covered pretty much everything from when Jericho was a kid through his illustrious career. The interviews featured in it were, Chad Irvine, Lance Storm, Michael Hayes, Chavo Guerrero, Edge, Christian, John Cena, Eric Bischoff, Goldberg, The Miz, Dean Malenko, and more. This Documentary is probably the best I have ever seen and would go down in my top 3. He explains so much about Japan, Mexico, Smokey Mountain, Hart Brothers, WCW, ECW, and of course the WWE. I love how he wasn’t being kayfabe at all and was telling straight up. The only knock I have on this DVD which nothing could have been done about anyways was no Chris Benoit. I don’t want to spoil anything in the Documentary but this is easily going to be DVD of the year.

Extras – The Extras were greatly selected and told a few awesome and funny stories. I can tell Jericho took a huge part in picking the things for this DVD. It had Promos, Vignettes, and Interviews, everything that should be on a DVD. They had rare stuff on it like the Vignettes from the Thrill seekers back in Smokey Mountain, which I found really cool. Had stories from Christian, Joey Styles, and the man himself Chris Jericho. Great promos with The Rock, Austin, and more you would find awesome. And too top it off a music video of Jericho’s band Fozzy. The Extras on this DVD only make it better and probably the best selected Extras on a DVD.

Overall Thoughts – Like I said earlier, DVD of the year so far (I honestly don’t think anything coming out for the rest of the year will be better). The Documentary was perfectly done, same with the Extras. I can tell Jericho played a huge part in this DVD, being he is a perfectionist. The Matches were selected great also, and had a match from every promotion he was in with the exception of Mexico (I’m assuming it was hard to get.) I really hope this isn’t the last Jericho DVD, but I highly doubt anything will top it. I would love to see a future release of only matches being this had a Documentary already and Jericho also having 2 Books soon. I highly recommend this to any fan, even if you can’t stand Jericho, it is that damn good. This is in my top 3 DVD’s of all times without a doubt. I mean it’s almost a perfect DVD. You can tell WWE and Jericho really tried on this one down to the Artwork. Please check this DVD out, I promise you, you won’t be wasting your time.
