Overall Thoughts – The show kicked off with a rematch from Hell in a Cell, Air Boom taking on Swagger & Ziggler and I gotta say it was one of the better openers this year. This was really fun and got a perfect amount of time. The match was action packed with some really nice moves; pretty good stuff. I hated how Ryder/Ziggler was directly after this which didn’t allow Ziggler to a catch break. Ziggler/Ryder ended up to be decent and a disappointment but due to timing and not give Ziggler a break. Even though Ziggler’s conditioning is great it’s a given that the match would’ve been better if he would’ve had some extra time to rest. I loved the finish of this match though and was happy with the result. I don’t think Ryder is ready for the belt just yet but he’ll be very soon. Phoenix/Eve was really nothing special but I had no major complaints either. Eve also pulled out a new submission which looked pretty cool. I think it went a bit too long but the result was what it should’ve been. Christian/Sheamus wasn’t better than their previous match and a disappointment. It was still good but I just thought it would be better. The crowd was 100% dead for this as well which hurt it. The action was solid but I didn’t agree with the result at all. HHH/Punk vs. Miz/Truth was very slow but borderline good. The pacing was just super slow until about the last 3 minutes of the match. The wrestling was good but a lot of parts were very dull and hard to get into. Kevin Nash returning was cool and the post match beat down on HHH was really cool which should lead to a match at Survivor Series. Orton/Rhodes was pretty good as expected, I’m glad these guys got to have a match on PPV after their work on Smackdown. There was a lot of good back and forth action throughout, nice counters and moves as well. I loved when Rhodes taunted Orton when he coils up but unfortunately he didn’t get the job done which I had no problem with. Henry/Show was actually better than expected and better than their MITB match. I didn’t like their technical style at first but it started to get better, especially for these two giants. I felt the finish was a spot that shouldn’t be reenacted but the crowd popped for it. I definitely have no clue where they will go from here but time will tell. Cena/ADR was very fun and MOTN. I give them props for making the match good with the ring broken down but they did manage to use the match gimmick and brawl around the arena. There were a few really cool spots and nice near counts. My state of mind going into the match was that Del Rio would be 100% retaining but WWE made me think otherwise at least twice which I applaud them for. Overall the PPV wasn’t good but not bad, but it will probably fall into the bottom 6 PPV’s of 2011.
